Our Christian Values

Our Christian Values

We are loving

We are respectful to other people and the world around us

We always have the courage to be the best version of ourselves.

The School's values seek to underpin the Christian belief that we are all God's people and that we all matter.  We endeavour to nurture excellence in all that we do: both in our learning and through our citizenship.  We believe that everyone within our school community should be valued and treated with love and respect and that each of us has a right to grow and become the best we can be.  Likewise, we believe that we each have a responsibility to show respect towards each other.  Our shared values have been developed and are shared by the whole school community.  They are central to what we believe within school and permeate our daily work and interactions, relationships and decisions.  With these values and our belief that we have a responsibility to give our best in all we do, our children are helped to prepare for their life long learning journey.

Love is thinking of others before yourself.

Respect is recognising the value of everything and everyone.

Courage is standing up for what is right even when it is difficult.

Love

‘Love is kind, love is eternal and love never gives up’ (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)

Love is a core value for our church school because God the Father so loved the world that he sent his son, Jesus, to show us how to care for each other.

We show love and care towards one another, nurturing each other and supporting one another in love. We put others before ourselves without expectation of reward.

Our puppet 'Loving Luke' helps us to remember the story in the bible 'The Lost Sheep' where Jesus teaches us the value of showing love to everyone.

Respect

‘Treat others as you would want them to treat you’ (Matthew 7:12)

Respect is a core value for our school because God sent his Holy Spirit to put respect in to our hearts and treat others as we would want to be treated.

We show respect by treating each other with politeness and courtesy and recognising that everyone’s contribution is important.

Our puppet Respectful Rufus helps us to remember that Jesus taught us to always treat others with respect in the story of the temple.

Courage

‘Be strong and Courageous; do not be frightened for the Lord God is with you wherever you go’ (Joshua)

Courage is a core value for our church school because Jesus teaches us to do the right thing and make the right choices, even when this is hard to do.

In our school we have the courage to stand by our beliefs and are committed to what is right and true.

Our puppet 'Courageous Carl' helps us to remember the story of 'Daniel and the Lions' where God teaches us to always be courageous no matter what.

Respect the past. Love our world and face the future with Courage.
