  We have been remembering the 56 men from Catherington who died in the First World War. We wrote their names on a trail of 100 poppies through our school.

• Catherington welcomes some new friends!

  Today I took my son Joe and went to visit our new Pekin Bantam chickens. They were growing up in a wonderful home with lots of fluffy friends to keep them company.  Joe and I spotted three beautiful ones and were quickly smitten! So here they are  our three new friends. They are safe and warm in their new home and are looking forward to meeting you all this week. 

   

  Each class will be responsible for their own chicken. They will be visiting and naming them this week.

• Maths Workshop a great success!

  This week we held a workshop for parents, informing them about our maths curriculum and how they can support their children at home.

  It was very well attended and parents requested future workshops to learn about the different ways we teach problem- solving tasks and record maths at school. 

  So, in the New Year, we will run a 'Parent and Child' workshop where you can have a go at maths activities together- details to follow later.
