Autumn 2
Week 5
In science this week, we conducted an experiment to see which sense was the best for identifying food. We explored sight, smell and taste. We used three different jellies to test and we had a lot of fun!
We started getting in the mood for Christmas this week! We have made some snowflakes in funky fingers, and we have been practising our numbers in snow (flour)! We put up our tree in adventure time and the girls decided to borrow the iPad and organise a photo shoot! π€©π«ΆπΌπ

This week in science, we have been learning all about our senses. We have experimented with touch, taste, smell, sight and hearing. We also spent some time in our butterfly garden looking at all the colours. π
Making biscuit bears!
In history this week, we looked at our toys. The children shared their toys with their class friends and talked about what they were made from and how they played with them.
Remembrance day. Today we learnt about the people who have died in World War One who lived in Catherington. We learnt about how people show respect on Remembrance Sunday by wearing poppies, laying wreaths and donating to the Royal British legion. We reflected on the courage these men would have shown and how much love they had to keep us safe today. We looked at the names of the men who died and talked about the huge loss of life. After learning about the Lytch gate, we walked to the church to find the names and show our respects by remembering them. The children also painted some lovely cards and made some poppies using collage. At 11, we joined the rest of the school in a two minutes silence.
Anti-bullying day. Today we talked all about using our power for good. We watched Andy and the band's song about speaking up when we see bullying and we discussed how to do this. We loved wearing our odd socks to show how unique and special we are. π
