Week 5
This week we spent lots of time exploring the concept of pairs. We matched objects up in Discovery Time, helped aliens find their matching pair in maths lessons and even talked about why we call trousers, scissors and tights 'pairs'.
Forest School on Wednesday was so much fun! We explored the environment, played on the trim trail and made s'mores on a campfire... delicious!
In PE we added all of our 'strong' and 'jelly' dance moves together to make a dance with a partner. We had to try to travel high, low, fast and slow. It was tricky but we really enjoyed it.
For National Storytelling Week we listened to Simon Mole and Gecko talk about how to make stories. We joined in with them to make a wriggly worm poem and added percussion with our hands and knees to make it sound like a song. We also enjoyed writing and drawing about Hansel and Gretel in our Drawing Club sessions.
We continued our learning about man-made and natural materials by investigating which natural and man-made materials sink and float.
Lunar New Year is getting closer now, so we spent some time learning about why each Lunar New Year is named after a different animal. We made some Chinese lanterns (red for good luck!) and decorated the home corner with some beautiful decorations.
