Week 2
What a busy week we've had in Oak Class! Some of our days had special themes:
Monday - Anti-bullying Day. Today we thought about how to be kind to others. We reflected on how similar and different we all are and celebrated differences by wearing odd socks. We learned how important it is to speak up if we see someone being unkind and thought about what our superpowers are (listening, being loving, telling adults when we need help).
Tuesday - Remembrance Day. We found out why this day is such an important day and why it happens at the same time every year. We made poppy field pictures and a poppy wreath, which we laid at the local memorial on Friday.
Wednesday - Interfaith Day. We spent some time learning about different peoples' beliefs and reflected on how wonderful it is to live in a world full of so much variety. We met some special characters who all have different faiths and explored some of their most special possessions.
As well as all of these special activities, we practised reading and writing in phonics, enjoyed having a go on the slack line in forest school and some of us even learned a new skill in the woodwork area!
