Week 1
We had a lovely time being back together after our half term break!
In maths we explored the composition of the number 5. We used a variety of images and resources, including hands, die frames and counters. On Friday we used these resources to prove that 5 and 5 altogether makes 10.
In phonics we learned how to read and write double letters, like ff, ss and ll.
We celebrated bonfire night by making firework pictures and listening to the story of Guy Fawkes. On the field, we made cosy spaces for creatures to hide in if they get scared by the loud bangs and flashes.
All of us have now had a go at using the hammers in the woodwork area. Some of us even practised hammering golf tees into pumpkins, which was very messy and lots of fun!
At the end of the week, the Planet Protectors showed us the brilliant bin labels they've made. They explained how to use the bins and told us which items we can recycle. What environmental experts!
