Week 2
We have spent lots of time thinking about materials and their properties this week.
We each had a go at feeling different materials in a special bag and used words to describe them, like hard, soft, fluffy, rough, smooth and bumpy. We realised that certain materials are useful for particular jobs and investigated the difference between straw, stick and brick houses.
We enjoyed listening to the story of The Little Red Hen and showed our parents what a Drawing Club session is like in Oak Class.
In Forest School we kept warm by a fire, explored the new trim trail and made bark rubbings with our friends.
In maths we practised spotting 'more' and 'fewer' and used counters to make equal amounts.
In PSHE we discussed safety and decided what things are safe to go on our bodies.
One of our favourite activities was writing a letter to the three bears from Goldilocks to say sorry for breaking their chair, eating their porridge and sleeping in their bed... I wonder if we'll receive a response?
