Week 3
What an icy week we've had! We loved playing in the snow on Wednesday and made some lovely snowy pictures and snowflakes to decorate our classroom. We explored ice in our outside area, feeling how cold it is in our hands and watching what happens to it when it falls onto the ground. Some of us collected ice in containers and used it in our mud kitchen creations.
We learned about nocturnal and diurnal animals and made owls and hedgehogs with junk modelling materials. We enjoyed trying to write some names of nocturnal animals, like bat, owl, fox, cat and hedgehog.
In our maths lessons we looked at different shapes and used mathematical vocabulary to talk about the differences between triangles and circles. We had fun making number spiders in discovery time, too!
More of us got the chance to use screwdrivers for the first time in our woodwork area - we made some fantastic things and noticed that screws hold our different attachments in place more securely than nails.
