Learning together for tomorrow’s world

Year 2

Hello Seahorses, I am Mr Dickenson and I am very excited about working with you at Catherington. As I am new to the school and to Seahorses, I have a lot to learn and would really like to know something about you.

In the "ABOUT ME" document I have included some information about myself. Use the questions as a guide to tell me about yourself. Is there anything else you want to know about me? Please use the school address or email address to send your replies.

Following on from your Titanic topic last term, I have set a couple of challenges you might like to do.

1) Knowing how important recycling is, can you design and make the Titanic out of the things you recycle?

2) The band on board the Titanic famously carried on playing as the ship went down. What different instruments can you make using recycling materials and other things you can find in your home?

Have a look at the documents below for some ideas.

As we are presently going through a moment of history you might like to keep a diary of the different things you do during lockdown. I have attached a guide for you to use or fill in.

I have also included some maths activities you might like to try. These focus on the four operations - addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

I hope you all had a good Easter and that you are all well and staying safe. Hope to see you all soon.
