Last week in maths we explored how we identify, represent and estimate numbers in different ways. What mathematical knowledge or methods can we draw on to help us make sensible estimations?
First we looked at the numbers themselves and reminded ourselves how their values change when they are rearranged.
Next we looked at using the 'greater than' and 'less than' symbols (< >) to identify the place of numbers in relation to other numbers.
We then looked at how we used our knowledge of numbers to estimate values of numbers in relation to a blank number line, measurement of length and height, and for capacity.
How good are you at estimating? Have a go.
