I can’t believe we only have 2 weeks left in Turtles, it’s going too fast! This week we had transition so the lovely Turtles moved to Sea horses for a morning and they had a lovely time 🤗
From this, in English this week we have been preparing to write a letter to Mrs Weight to talk about ourselves and ask her any questions that we would like to know. We have been using adjectives to describe how we look and about our personality. We have also been practising writing compound sentences.
In Maths this week we have been recapping multiplication and division. We have been using resources to help is share and put things in groups. We have also been finding different ways to show this in our books.
In Topic this week we have been doing Art. We are making landscapes using textiles of Southseaand next week we will make Catherington.

This week we have been working hard to finish our stories in English. We have been writing using time words, adjectives and capital letters for names. The stories have been so imaginative and they children should be so pleased!
In Maths this week we have been revising our place value to 100. We have been playing dice games to work out how many tens and ones are in a number. They are getting really good! See if you could play this game at home.
In Topic this week we have been drawing and painting landscapes of Portsmouth and Southsea. We were really focusing on how the colours would be different. We found many different names for colours to. Could they tell you any at home?
We have also spent some time this week thinking about moving foreword to our text class. We have played some team games to make sure we are all supporting each other through this change.

Another incredibly busy week! Thank you to all the Dads that came in to support with our learning. Our school trip was fantastic, the children behaved wonderfully and loved learning and touching the sea animals. I hope it gave them a good insight into what’s in our sea. It supported our science lessons where we are learning all about sea animals and how they survive.
In English this week we have been writing our stories about Mr Grinling and what adventures he has been on! We are trying to include adjectives and time words.
In Maths this week we have been continuing to learn about money and what its value is. We have been using lots of resources to support out learning.
The children’s swimming lessons are going so well and they are all making incredible progres. If anyone would like to come as a parent helper please come and speak to me.
This week in Maths the children have been learning about money. We have been recognising coins and notes up to £20. We have been matching these with numicon and dienes to show how much they are worth. We have also been learning how 100p is the same as £1 and 200p is the same as £2.
In English this week we have recapping time words and how to start a sentence. The children have been ordering the story of the Lighthouse Keepers Lunch and adding time words next to the picture. We have also planned our story that we plan to write next week.
In phonics this this week we have been reading tricky words and using them in sentences. In guided reading we have been focusing on talking about we have read. We have been answering questions about what we like,dislike and don’t understand.

In Maths this week we have been doing addition and subtraction word problems. We have been using all the resources and the methods we have learnt throughout the year to show this.
