This week we have finished off our Uganda topic by learning about the music and instruments in Uganda.
Some of the boys were really excited when they found a slug and they made him a little home. Unfortunately the slug escaped from its home that night!
Our vegetables are growing really well. The children are really good at remembering to water them.
In phonics this week we have been practicing writing words with 4 or 5 letters. We have tried really hard to hear and write all the sounds.
We practiced writing letters correctly on the playground with chalk. It was lovely in the sunshine.
This week we have been learning about how we can care for the wonderful world. We learnt that some Christians believe that God made the world and that humans were put on the earth to protect the world and all the animals and plants within it.
We went to the field to take pictures of the beautiful things we could see in nature.
We have also been learning about the charity TUSK. They help to protect animals in Africa. We were thinking about how they protect the Elephants from hunters and wrote letters to them to ask them to stop. Our letters are in our writing books if you want to have a look at them.
This week we have been learning about the animals in Uganda and Africa.
In Maths we have been learning about how to half objects and amounts. We had to cut some fruit from Uganda in half fairly. We decided we should cut it down the middle and make sure each side was the same size.
This week we have been learning about the people in Uganda. We looked at some clothes that some African people might wear and some of us even tried them on. We were amazed at how colourful they were. We talked about how different some people are in Africa then us.
Welcome back Dolphins
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter break.
We have started our new topic this week learning all about the world. We have had lots of fun learning about the names of different countries and making flags.
