Head Teacher- Mrs Burden

This week our new year r children have spent their first full day at school. They are already showing so much courage. It is lovely to see them beginning to make friends with each other and enjoying discovery time together. Thank you parents for preparing your children so well for this huge change in their little lives and thank you to all of the adults in year r who make school so exciting and fun.

Also this week Rocksteady came to give us an extra workshop. Rocksteady deliver weekly in-school band lessons that celebrate fun, individuality and creativity!

Rocksteady’s inclusive approach helps children find a sense of belonging through new friendships and a shared love for music, whilst boosting social skills, wellbeing and confidence. At the end of each term, the children learning an     instrument in a rocksteady band perform a mini concert to their families and friends.

There are still some spaces in the bands for anyone who would like to learn the guitar, keyboard, drums or be a singer. For more information and to sign up visit www.rocksteadymusicschool.com.

Thank you to those parents who were able to come to the Trickbox meeting on Wednesday afternoon. If you couldn't make it but want to find out more please visit  our website and click on the mental health and wellbeing tab. www.catherington.hants.sch.uk/mental-health-and-wellbeing

Have a fabulous weekend.

Can you help?

Year 1 Hazel class desperately need some more resources for Adventure time. The specifically need animals, cars and a garage and baby dolls with accessories. If you have anything like this which your child no longer plays with the children in Year 1 would love to play with them.

Well done to Bonnie who received a certificate for showing Respect at home. If you feel your child has demonstrated one of our three school values, Love, Courage or Respect this half term, at home or when out and about please email the office and let us know all about it and I will celebrate it at school.

Your child can be awarded as many Values certificates as you like throughout the year.

Values certificates are presented to children every Friday during celebration worship.
