Friday 7th November

Head Teacher- Mrs Burden

The children have returned this week ready to learn and full of excitement.

Year 2 started Forest school sessions this week. They worked really well in the forest school area using their imaginations and taking risks. Well done Sycamore class.

Our keen Planet Protectors also had their second meeting this week. They have labelled all the bins throughout the school so that all children and adults can collect rubbish in an organised way. There are bins for general waste, food and recycling.

Thanks Planet Protectors!

PTA NEWS

Up and coming PTA events and how you can help

Just before half term CISA sent out the emails, letters and links for the up-and-coming Christmas events. We just wanted to recap on a few things and answer any potential questions.

  • Shopping day donations - We are now collecting shopping day donations for the children to buy at £1 a gift (Max 5 people). These can be simple things like unwanted unused items like toiletries, candles, games.

  • Jar tombola - If you do not have a spare jar at home, we have a stock of Jars available from the office. We kindly ask that you fill the jar for our tombola. This can be anything you have spare at home, in the past we have had, jars of sweets, Lego, stickers, party bag stuffers etc.

  • Festive clothing sale - On 27th November, we have our annual clothing sale ahead of Christmas jumper day. If you have any festive clothing, jumpers, pj's etc, please consider donating this to school via the office and the PTA will be out in the playground selling this afterschool.

If you have any questions or would like to help with the preparation or on the event dates, please feel free to contact us via our email Catheringtoncisa@gmail.com

For inspiration for the above, please check out our Catherington Infant PTA Facebook page.

Book of the month-November

Ruby’s Worry by Tom Percival

Ruby loves being Ruby. Until, one day, she finds a worry. At first it's not such a big worry, but then it starts to grow. It gets bigger and bigger every day and it makes Ruby sad. How can Ruby get rid of it and feel like herself again?

We all have worries from time to time, and this is a great book for discussing this with children in a meaningful and accessible way.

REMEMBRANCE DAY- Tuesday 11th November
