ZooLab

What an amazing experience ZooLab was! The awe and wonder the children had today was brilliant to see, so many questions and such a practical way for them to learn all about science topic. They were so courageous and held the animals but also showed so much respect and really cared for the animals welfare. What super stars they were and so much fun had by all! 🐍🦎

Week 4

A huge well done to all the children for their amazing assembly so courageous to stand up and share with everyone. 😀

In English this week we have been writing a story based on Edgar the excitable dragon, we focused on adjectives to make our story really interesting to read. We will be reading them to year 2 soon!

In Maths this week we have been learning about place value, tens and ones. We have been using resources to make the different numbers and see how many tens each number holds.

Don't forget it is ZooLab on Monday! 🐍🦟🕷🦗

Week 3

This week we have been really busy practising for our class assembly next Tuesday. They are all doing wonderfully but if you have any spare time please practise the words at home.

In English this week we have introduced our new class writing prompt which is Edgar the Excitable dragon. The children have loved it and have spent lots of time generating adjectives to describe him. We have also written a character description and they were all great!

In Maths this week we have been learning about shapes and then halving shapes. We have thought about the words equal and fair and even had a go at some reasoning too!

This week also kick started our DT project which is about designing and making our own dips. This week we tested and ranked them depending on sight, smell and taste!

Week 2

This week we have been continuing with our text Dogger. We have been re-telling the story through drama and making story maps. We have also been focusing on capital letters when writing names so we used our book to practise this.

In Maths this week we have been sharing things into 2 parts. We’ve had lots of practise with resources and then had a go at recording this too.

This week we have spent lots of time thinking about the word kindness and how we can show kindness throughout our day to all. Everyone had some wonderful ideas so I hope they can share them with you at home.

Week 1

Welcome back lovely Turtles! We have had a wonderful week so a huge well done.

In English this week we have started our new class text Dogger. We have been using prediction to think about who the people are and what they are like.

In Maths this week we have been learning about groups of twos. We have been counting in 2’s and seeing how many different groups we can make with the resources.

Well done ☺️
